1. Data Controller
The data controller for this platform is the institution or lecturer operating this installation of AI Lecturer. For questions about your data, contact the platform administrator.
2. What We Collect and Why
Account data (name, email address, hashed password) is
collected when you register. This is necessary to authenticate you and
associate you with the courses you enrol in. Without this data, we cannot
provide the service.
Chat interactions (your questions and the AI's responses)
are stored per course session so that you can review past conversations and
continue learning across sessions.
Enrolment records track which courses you are authorised
to access. These are managed by the course lecturer.
3. Legal Basis for Processing
Processing is based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give by ticking the box and clicking "I Accept & Continue" below. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account from the My Account page (click your name in the top bar), or by contacting the administrator.
4. Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active on this platform. Upon account deletion, all associated personal data is permanently removed from the system.
5. Your Rights Under GDPR
You have the right to: access a copy of your personal data; rectify inaccurate data; erase your data ("right to be forgotten"); restrict or object to processing; and data portability. You can erase your account yourself from the My Account page. To exercise any of the other rights, contact the platform administrator.
6. No Third-Party Sharing
Your personal data is not sold, rented, or shared with any third party for marketing or commercial purposes. AI responses are generated using the course materials uploaded by your lecturer; no personally identifiable data is sent to AI providers beyond what is technically required to generate a response.
7. Cookies
This platform uses a single functional cookie (ail_gdpr_consent)
to record that you have accepted this notice, valid for one year.
No tracking or advertising cookies are used.
